On a first date it is customary for men to be very polite, pick up the check, and escort the women to her door/home. Sex is not expected after dating, actually it’s not usually expected ever before marriage. It tends to happen only among very few people who are more liberal with foreign backgrounds or influence.

Men tend to take the first step and they tend to be forward if the woman seems interested. It's not acceptable to hold her hand or kiss her on the first date…a flower will do it all.

Men ask women out, but only if they think the lady will welcome this invitation. Neither men nor women are expected to be very forward. No touching, fondling or holding hands is acceptable in public and by no means should you invite a female to visit you at home, or vice versa.

A guy might welcome such an invitation from a woman, but will sure have all the wrong thoughts in his head, she becomes automatically categorized as "easy" just for inviting him over.

Usually a coffee shop or a place for casual dinning is best for a first date. Do not offer to pick someone up for a date. Riding with a person in his/her private car is not usually acceptable on a first date.
