Up until a few years ago, all boys at age 18 had to perform military duty. Girls were exempt from this. Presently, people can soldiers voluntarily sign up instead. Women may participate in military duty as well.

Women are expected to take care of children, meals, and the house. Maternal Leave (after one has a baby) is three years for each child. It is common to see men walking the baby, but it is accepted to be the woman’s job. Daycare is often frowned upon.

Women tend to be very protective of their kitchens, and if they share a house with older family members, this tends to be number one complaint.

Mothers tend to bundle their children up as if they were constantly expecting violent snowstorms, and will get a talking-to from older women especially, if they dare to break this rule.
