There is little to no dating. Women are (on outer islands) expected to be virgins until marriage, so unmarried women/girls are expected to be with chaperons (boy relatives, etc) all the time.
Dating on Tarawa is much more common, premarital sex as well, but the entire idea of romantic relationships and dating are considered VERY foreign. Marriage is often arranged by the family.
